This Acceptable Use Policy describes the types of conduct that are not permitted when using Student Money Mentors. It supplements, and is incorporated into, the Student Money Mentors Terms of Service and other applicable policies.

Student Money Mentors is intended to help users learn about personal finance, budgeting, saving, credit, investing, financial decision-making, and related topics. Users are expected to use the Service responsibly and to avoid conduct that could harm, deceive, exploit, or financially endanger others.

1.Prohibited Uses

You may not use Student Money Mentors to:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another person.
  • Encourage, organize, or participate in targeted harassment, retaliation, or humiliation.
  • Threaten or encourage violence or physical harm.
  • Encourage, instruct, facilitate, or glorify suicide or self-harm.
  • Engage in fraud, scams, theft, identity theft, or other unlawful activity.
  • Impersonate another person, financial institution, company, government agency, educator, professional, or organization in a deceptive manner.
  • Misrepresent your qualifications, credentials, employment, financial experience, or professional status.
  • Request passwords, authentication codes, banking credentials, payment credentials, or other sensitive security information.
  • Publish or expose another person’s private or financial information without appropriate authorization.
  • Attempt to identify, locate, track, or expose another person for harmful purposes.
  • Upload or distribute malware, malicious code, phishing links, or other harmful material.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, networks, or financial information.
  • Circumvent authentication, access controls, security measures, or platform restrictions.
  • Interfere with the operation, security, availability, or integrity of the Service.
  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract information from the Service in violation of applicable restrictions or law.
  • Create replacement accounts or otherwise evade a suspension, restriction, or other enforcement action.
  • Submit knowingly false, fraudulent, retaliatory, or intentionally misleading reports or appeals.
  • Organize mass reporting or brigading to manipulate moderation or target another user.
  • Use the Service to facilitate unlawful financial activity.

2.Financial Scams and Fraud

Student Money Mentors must not be used to facilitate or promote financial abuse.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Romance scams.
  • Investment scams.
  • Cryptocurrency scams.
  • Ponzi or pyramid schemes.
  • Advance-fee fraud.
  • Fake loan offers.
  • Fake grants or scholarships.
  • Fake employment or business opportunities.
  • Phishing.
  • Identity theft.
  • Payment fraud.
  • Account takeover.
  • Money laundering.
  • Requests for gift cards or cryptocurrency as part of a deceptive scheme.
  • Fraudulent fundraising.
  • Misrepresenting guaranteed investment returns.
  • Fabricating financial credentials or endorsements.
  • Impersonating banks, lenders, brokers, financial advisers, government agencies, or other financial institutions.

Do not use Student Money Mentors to pressure another person into sending money or transferring assets.

3.Financial Guidance and Accuracy

Financial information should be presented responsibly.

Users must not intentionally provide materially false, fabricated, or misleading financial information, including:

  • False calculations.
  • Fabricated statistics.
  • False investment performance.
  • Misleading projections.
  • Guaranteed-return claims.
  • Fabricated interest rates.
  • False claims about taxes or legal requirements.
  • Misleading claims about loans or credit.
  • False claims about financial products.
  • Deliberately manipulated comparisons.
  • Falsified financial documents or records.

Good-faith mistakes are not automatically violations. However, users should correct material errors when they become aware of them.

Users should independently verify important financial information before relying on it.

4.Financial Recommendations

Student Money Mentors may provide educational information and general financial discussion.

Users should not present uncertain information as guaranteed financial advice or claim that a particular financial outcome is certain.

Users should exercise particular care with decisions involving:

  • Investments.
  • Retirement.
  • Taxes.
  • Debt.
  • Credit.
  • Loans.
  • Insurance.
  • Housing.
  • Student financing.
  • Major purchases.
  • Business decisions.

Where a decision could materially affect someone’s finances, users should encourage independent research and, when appropriate, consultation with a qualified financial, tax, legal, or other relevant professional.

5.Financial Manipulation and Exploitation

You may not use financial information, financial authority, or claims of expertise to manipulate or exploit another person.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Pressuring someone to invest money.
  • Pressuring someone to take on unnecessary debt.
  • Coercing someone into giving money or property.
  • Exploiting someone’s financial vulnerability.
  • Using fear or fabricated urgency to obtain money.
  • Claiming that someone will suffer a guaranteed financial loss unless they follow your instructions.
  • Using a claimed professional relationship to obtain unauthorized access to financial accounts.
  • Manipulating another person into revealing financial credentials.
  • Exploiting a student’s lack of financial knowledge for personal gain.

6.Deceptive Financial Fabrication and AI Misuse

Users may not intentionally use Student Money Mentors or its AI features to fabricate or manipulate financial information.

This includes generating or distributing:

  • Fake bank statements.
  • Fake investment records.
  • Fake account balances.
  • Fake income documentation.
  • Fake tax documents.
  • Fake loan documents.
  • Fake financial credentials.
  • Fake transaction histories.
  • Fabricated financial projections intended to deceive.
  • Altered financial records intended to mislead another person.
  • Other deceptive financial documentation.

AI-generated financial information must not be represented as authentic documentation when it is not.

7.AI Features

Student Money Mentors may provide AI-powered features that analyze financial questions, educational material, calculations, documents, or other user-provided information.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or based on incorrect assumptions.

Users should independently verify important financial information before acting on it.

AI output should not automatically be treated as proof that:

  • A financial claim is true.
  • An investment is safe.
  • A person committed fraud.
  • A particular tax treatment applies.
  • A particular legal outcome is guaranteed.
  • A financial product is appropriate for a particular person.

Users remain responsible for how they use AI-generated or AI-assisted content.

You may not use Student Money Mentors AI features to facilitate fraud, financial deception, identity theft, credential theft, harassment, exploitation, or other prohibited conduct.

8.Sensitive Financial Information

Certain Student Money Mentors features may allow users to upload documents, screenshots, spreadsheets, images, or other information for analysis or processing.

Users should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information.

Before uploading material, consider whether it contains:

  • Bank account numbers.
  • Credit-card numbers.
  • Debit-card numbers.
  • Passwords.
  • Authentication codes.
  • Social Security numbers or other government identification.
  • Tax identification numbers.
  • Financial statements.
  • Loan account information.
  • Private addresses.
  • Private contact information.
  • Other sensitive financial or personal information.

Where possible, users should redact unnecessary sensitive information before uploading it.

Feature-specific notices may provide additional information about how particular uploads are processed.

9.Privacy and Personal Information

You may not publish or distribute another person’s private information without appropriate authorization.

This includes:

  • Financial information.
  • Bank information.
  • Account numbers.
  • Government identification.
  • Home addresses.
  • Phone numbers.
  • Private email addresses.
  • Private communications.
  • Employment information.
  • Other sensitive personal information.

The fact that information is available to you does not automatically mean that you have permission to redistribute it.

10.Security

You may not use Student Money Mentors to:

  • Steal credentials.
  • Obtain authentication codes.
  • Take over accounts.
  • Circumvent security controls.
  • Access financial accounts without authorization.
  • Deploy malware.
  • Conduct phishing attacks.
  • Exploit vulnerabilities against users.
  • Disrupt platform systems.
  • Access or expose information that does not belong to you.

If you discover a potential security vulnerability, report it privately through the appropriate Student Money Mentors security or contact channel.

11.Intellectual Property

Users must have an appropriate legal basis or permission to upload, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use copyrighted or other protected material through Student Money Mentors.

Do not use the Service to distribute pirated material or intentionally infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights.

12.No Circumvention

You may not attempt to bypass Student Money Mentors restrictions by:

  • Creating replacement accounts.
  • Using another person’s account.
  • Manipulating URLs, identifiers, or requests.
  • Circumventing access controls.
  • Re-uploading prohibited material after removal.
  • Altering prohibited content solely to evade moderation.
  • Using another feature to accomplish something prohibited elsewhere on the Service.

13.Reports and Appeals

Users should report conduct that violates Student Money Mentors policies or presents a meaningful safety, financial, privacy, or security concern.

Reports must be made in good faith.

You may not knowingly submit false, fraudulent, retaliatory, or abusive reports to:

  • Silence another user.
  • Damage someone’s reputation.
  • Manipulate moderation.
  • Remove legitimate content.
  • Disrupt another person’s account.

Good-faith mistakes are not automatically violations.

Eligible enforcement decisions may be subject to an appeal process where available. Student Money Mentors may impose reasonable limits on repetitive, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise improper appeals.

14.Enforcement

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:

  • Content removal.
  • Warnings.
  • Feature restrictions.
  • Interaction restrictions.
  • Account restrictions.
  • Temporary suspension.
  • Permanent account termination.
  • Blocking associated accounts.
  • Preservation of relevant information where appropriate.
  • Referral to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

Enforcement may consider:

  • The severity of the conduct.
  • Potential financial harm.
  • Potential harm to other users.
  • Available evidence.
  • Account history.
  • Repeated violations.
  • Applicable law.
  • Security considerations.

Student Money Mentors does not guarantee that every violation will be detected or that every report will result in a particular enforcement outcome.
